Our Story

The Shakespeare started with four partners — British and Thai — who shared one conviction: Bangkok deserved a proper pub. Not a theme bar with union jacks on the wall and frozen pies in the microwave, but somewhere that actually felt like home. We found our spot on Sukhumvit 63 in Ekkamai — a space with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass on three sides, and enough room to do things properly. We built it out with families and groups in mind, with a quieter interior cove, a large patio with both smoking and non-smoking sections, a beer garden, and an open central bar with a full-sized pool table and window ledge seating. The manager behind the bar has worked in more Bangkok pubs than most people have had hot dinners. He brought the staff with him — a team that genuinely enjoys the job, treats every customer like a regular, and knows exactly what a proper pub should feel like. We opened on Sukhumvit 63 and within days we were full. That's not something we take for granted. We're grateful — and we work every shift to earn it.

The Team

The team at The Shakespeare Pub, Ekkamai Bangkok

The manager has spent years working in Bangkok pubs and understands what makes a great local. He brought together a team that genuinely enjoys what they do, takes pride in looking after customers, and helps create the kind of atmosphere people want to come back to.

That attitude runs through the whole pub. Whether you’re a regular or visiting for the first time, you’ll find a warm welcome, friendly service, and a place where it’s easy to settle in and feel at home.
